LiveGospel turns speech into captions on your Mac. The sermon itself stays there: the audio, what was recognized, and the translations are processed on the Mac and are not sent to us, except in the session logs and reports described below, which you choose to send. Audio and video are never uploaded.

Your LiveGospel account

To sign in, you give an email address; we email it a 6-digit code and a link. When a Mac signs in, our server keeps:

Sign-in codes, links, and the Mac's sign-in token are kept only in scrambled (hashed) form. Codes expire after 15 minutes.

Licenses and purchases

A license records the church or organization's name, a contact email, the number of Macs, the paid-until date, and which Macs (by Machine ID) use it. A license request from the app sends the name, email, Machine ID, Mac model, and app version you see in the request.

Purchases are made through Stripe, which acts as the seller of record and handles payment, sales tax, receipts, cancellations, and refunds. We receive the church name you enter, the buyer's email, and the subscription's status; we never see card numbers. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Usage data (counts only)

While a Mac is signed in, LiveGospel sends counts that show us how it is used, so we can improve it. It is on unless you turn off Settings › Usage data › Share usage data. Each time the app starts: the app version and build, macOS version, Mac model, memory, language pack version, and whether it is licensed. After each session: how many minutes it ran, the input (microphone, YouTube, or media file), the languages, the speech and translation engines, how many lines were captioned, shown without a caption, or failed, how many interpreter lines there were, the language pack version, and whether it was licensed. It never includes what was said, captions, or audio. Kept 13 months.

Session logs (only if you agree)

After the first session, LiveGospel asks whether to send session logs; nothing is sent until you agree, and you can change this in Settings › Session logs. With your agreement, after each session LiveGospel sends its log and subtitle details file. These do contain the recognized words and their translations, with timings and errors, and the YouTube video ID or the media file's name. We use them only to find and fix recognition and translation problems. They are sent after the session ends, never during it. Kept 6 months.

Problem reports

Help › Report a Problem… sends your message, the app version, Mac model, Machine ID, language pack version, and the last session's log and subtitle details file, which the window names before you press Send. Kept 6 months.

Caption corrections (Subtitle Editor)

When the Subtitle Editor sends corrections (with its setting on), it sends the captions you corrected, the original captions and the Korean lines behind them, the video's link or the media file's name, and the account ID and Machine ID recorded when the captions were made. We keep them to improve LiveGospel's recognition and translation, until you ask us to delete them.

Updates and downloads

The app checks updates.livegospel.net for app updates, language packs, and settings, and downloads its speech and translation models from our mirror there or, if that is unavailable, from Hugging Face. Like any web request, these reveal your network address to the servers involved; they carry no account information.
